THE WINNERS OF THE REIMAGINE FOOTBALL SPORTS PERFORMANCE CHALLENGE
This Reimagine Football challenge resulted in 50 submissions from 15 different countries. Experts from the Football Innovation Platform – comprising of KNVB, Johan Cruijff ArenA, AFC Ajax, and City Football Group, with the support of UEFA – selected 10 entries, which were invited to pitch their ideas to the international football community and to further investigate how the solutions can be applied in practice during the Collaboration Event, on June 14th in Zeist, the Netherlands.
After fruitful discussions with the finalists, the winners were announced at the award ceremony. The jury has selected the following organizations to further collaborate with:
CoachFX (City Football Group, KNVB)
3D coaching simulations
Deeptimize (City Football Group)
3D posture and movement analysis
ShowYourSkills (KNVB)
Exercise platform for sports
StepOut (AFC Ajax)
Performance data gathering from match videos
This edition of the Reimagine Football challenge series invited companies worldwide, ranging from start-ups to established corporations, to come up with innovative ideas to help football towards improved performance for two challenge subjects:
#1 ‘Move to Improve’ | Healthy and Engaged Football Communities
How can we create healthy digital communities for grassroots football players to challenge themselves to play more football and eat better?
#2 ‘Champion Learning and Performance’ | Enhanced Information Absorption, 3D Data and AR
How can we create an optimal learning environment which supports the process of becoming a high-performing professional athlete?
The members of the Football Innovation Platform and the winning organisations will use the coming period to further examine how the winning ideas can be applied at stadiums or at recreational pitches, and to media content.
