The theme of the tour
Coldplay's current tour is themed around their ninth album, Music of the Spheres from 2021. Songs like Biutyful and My Universe are guaranteed on the setlist! The band has the goal to produce 50% less carbon emissions than during their previous in 2016 and 2017. The band is using sustainable confetti and green energy to help reach their goals, amongst many other initiatives.

For everyone who wants to see the band perform in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. - What is there to do?
Singing along loudly to the newest songs of as well as old hits of Coldplay, while being surrounded by tens of thousands of other fans. A memory to never forget. And of course, the chance to collect the best merch of the artist and enjoy delicious foods and drinks. - What should I wear?
The temperatures for the concerts of Coldplay will be between 19°C and 23°C and the sun will shine. It won't be much colder in the stadium than outside of it. We recommend you to wear layers. We also hope to see as many fans in their merchandise as possible. Did you know you can order your merch before the show via official online merchandise shop? - Where can I buy merchandise?
Besides at the stands in and around the Johan Cruijff ArenA, you can buy the merchandise of Coldplay via our online webshop and pick up your order at the ArenA at ArenaPark. The webshop opens a few days before the first show via merchandise.johancruijffarena.nl. More information about the merchandise will be shared in the days leading up to the concerts. Keep an eye on our socials! - What is and is not allowed inside the stadium?
From our own bag policy, bags bigger than A4 size are not allowed in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. We advise you to wear shoulder bags, tote bags,or fanny packs. Plastic water bottles of up to 500 ml without a cap and small fans are allowed in the stadium, as long as they fit in your bag. The correct entrance for your ticket will be mentioned on your ticket. It is not possible to enter the stadium via another entrance. - Where can I smoke?
All forms of smoking and vaping are forbidden in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. It is not possible to leave the stadium just to smoke and re-enter, since every ticket loses its validity after being scanned upon the first entry. Once you leave the Johan Cruijff ArenA, you cannot enter again for any reason. - Where can I find lockers?
There are no lockers in the Johan Cruijff ArenA for these concerts. If you need a locker due to a big bag or suitcase, you can use the Lockerpoints close to the Johan Cruijff ArenA. - From what time am I allowed to queue for this concert?
Due to safety reasons, it is only allowed to queue for a concert in the Johan Cruijff ArenA from 12.00 PM on the day of the concert itself. People who will be in the area before this time may be sent away and risk a fine. - When can I enter the stadium?
The stadium will open at 17.00 / 5.00 PM and close 30 minutes before the end of the concert. This means you can enter the stadium at 18.30 and enjoy the performances of the opening acts or enter just before Coldplay takes the stage. The choice is yours! - When does the concert start and end?
For all concerts of Coldplay in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the stadium will be open from 17.00 / 5.00 PM. The performances of Coldplay will start around 20.45 / 8.45 PM. The expected end is 23.00 / 11.00 PM. You can see the complete time schedule in the calendar items via the buttons below. - Will the roof of the stadium be opened or closed?
Due to special effects, the roof of the Johan Cruijff ArenA will be opened during the Coldplay shows. We recommend keeping an eye on the latest weather forecast to ensure you know what to wear. Think about bringing a cap and applying enough suncream when it’s sunny, or wearing a raincoat if rain is predicted. Umbrella's are not allowed in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. Recycle system for cups
The Johan Cruijff ArenA has a single use recycle system (SURS) during the concerts of Coldpaly. The purpose of this system is to collect all plastic cups that get used during the concerts and recycle them. How this system works and what we ask of you, can be read below.
How does the recycle system work?
- After entering the stadium, collect a wooden coin in a Green Zone. The Green Zones can be found close to the merchandise points in the stadium. Please note: 1 coin per person.
- After you picked up your coin in a Green Zone, hand in your coin during your first drink order at the bar.
- For your next drink order, hand in your used cups. If you lose your cup or don’t turn in a cup or coin, you’ll pay a recycle contribution of €0,50*.
- Have you had your last drink? Return your cup to a bar or collection point which can be found on your way out. This way we collectively make sure as many cups as possible get recycled.
*This contribution cannot be refunded.
Getting to the ArenA and parking
Cycling to the ArenA
Are you travelling by bike to the Johan Cruijff ArenA? You can park your bike at the guarded bicycle parking by NS at train station Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA. This bicycle parking is open from Monday until Saturday from 5.30 AM until 1.30 AM and on Sundays from 7.15 AM until 1.30 AM. The first 24 hours of parking your bicycle are free, after this it'll cost €0,55 per day. Please note that you need an OV-chipkaart to use the bicycle parkings.
Travel to the ArenA with public transport
Plan your journey to train and metro station Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA or metro station Strandvliet and you'll be at the Johan Cruijff ArenA after a few minutes of walking. Plan your journey via our mobility portal and buy your tickets online via the NS or GVB. A number of extra metro's and extended trains will ride on the evenings of the concerts to make sure everyone will get home.

Event rate
It's also possible to enter a parking garage without booking in advance and purchasing an event rate ticket on site. The event rate ticket is valid from 4 hours before Coldplay stands on the stage. Who is Coldplay?
Coldplay is a British rock band that started in London in 1997. You can know the band from songs like Viva La Vida, Paradise and Adventure of a Lifetime. The band members are Christ Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion. The band had their breakthrough in 2000 with the song Yellow, for which they won multiple prices. Through the years, the band experimented a lot and each album was themed around a different genre, such as R&B, classical music, disco and funk. In 2021, the band released their ninth album Music of the Spheres with hits like Biutyful and My Universe with BTS.
